Accutrend Cholesterol Strips (25)
Quantitative determination of cholesterol with ACCUTREND PLUS reflection photometers
Storage data
Storage and stability (+2ºC to +30ºC) until the expiration date indicated on the case, respectively on the tube. After removing a test strip, close the tube immediately to prevent exposure to dust, humidity, etc., from affecting the strips.

Accutrend Cholesterol Strips (25)
Quantitative determination of cholesterol with ACCUTREND PLUS reflection photometers
Clinical aspects
Cholesterol measurements serve as a screening for an atherogenic risk and for the diagnosis and observation of the development of diseases with high cholesterol, as well as disorders of lipid and lipoprotein metabolism.
Cholesterol is a steroid with a secondary hydroxyl group in the C3 position. It is synthesized in many tissues, but especially in the liver and intestinal wall. Approximately three quarters of cholesterol is generated by neosynthesis and one quarter by food ingestion.
Basis
The measurement principle is based on the reflection of light on the test strip containing a chromogenic substrate. The reagent strip has a magnetic strip that contains all the method-specific information necessary for the execution and calibration of the device in a fully automated manner.
Obtaining capillary blood sample.
The sample is deposited on the test strip, entering the reading chamber of the device.
After about three minutes, the result is obtained, without the need for reagent preparation, sample manipulation, or any calculations.
Reference intervals < 200 mg/dl.
Measurement range: 150-300 mg/dl
Interference
Bilirubin concentrations greater than 10 mg/dl, methylaminoantipyrine, gentisic acid, hematocrit values greater than 55% can influence the test result.
